Fast, feisty and glamorous …and that’s just the motorcycles, celebrities’ love of the motorbike shows no sign of abating. This week Motorcycle Insurance takes a look at some of the smashing, crashing celebrities who hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

PRINCE WILLIAM
Buckingham Palace is so worried that Prince William will come a cropper on his motorcycle that he is to be tailed by a protection officer. Senior bodyguards think the Prince is too inexperienced to be left alone when he is riding the 1100cc Honda Super Blackbird, incognito in leathers and helmet.

Prince Charles is also said to be worried about his son's safety on the 'super bike' as well as the security questions raised by his son's penchant for motorcycles .

Subsequently Charles's senior bodyguards has been instructed to shadow William whenever he goes for a ride. A security source close to Buckingham Palace says: "There is deep concern.

LILY ALLEN
The pop star has been left heartbroken after her boyfriend ended their five-month relationship. It is believed the couple split up after Allen suffered a miscarriage.

"They tried to make things work but they couldn't, says a source: “The miscarriage was a horrible experience for both of them. Lily is devastated things haven't worked out for her and Ed. But there is a big age difference and the miscarriage was too much to cope with so early on." Allen fell for the Chemical Brother’s frontman after watching him in concert last year, falling pregnant shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile, Allen is just one of a host of stars including Joss Stone and Take That’s Mark Owen to sign a Piaggio’S three-wheeled scooter. The MP3 was guest of honour backstage at the music industry's BRIT awards. The £4,299 MP3 250 was auctioned off to raise money for the charitable BRIT Trust – which raises money to put underprivileged young people through a special stage school.

KYLIE MINOGUE
The pop princess is believed to be seeking a reconciliation with French actor, Oliver Martinez. The pair have been spotted driving around Paris on Martinez’ Triumph motorcycle.

"Kylie always said Olivier was the love of her life, says a source: “They looked so happy to be back together as they strolled along the banks of the river Seine. They were pouring their hearts out to each other and looked very intimate and comfortable." The pair are said to be discussing a life plan" which includes marriage and children.

"Olivier has agreed to try for a baby. That was always the stumbling block in their relationship, says a friend. "A month ago, a mutual Parisian friend passed a message on to Kylie that Olivier deeply regretted the break-up. Two weeks later, Olivier called her late one night and that was their first conversation in almost a year. "Olivier has told her he is ready to start a family, to marry her and to settle down."

DENNIS HOPPER
The Hollywood star has been persuaded to climb back on to a motorcycle by director Quentin Tarantino for his movie Hell Ride. Hopper, who shot to fame as the hard-living Harley-Davidson-riding dropout in the cult 1969 film Easy Rider, was nicknamed Dennis the Menace during his days as a hell raiser.

In the new film, the 71-year-old actor will star alongside ex-footballer Vinnie Jones as two members of a Devil-worshipping biker cult called the 666ers.

The actor shot to fame as Billy in Easy Rider, a movie which is credited with inventing the hippy and revolutionising Hollywood in the Sixties. The film tells the story of two men on a road trip across the US and features LSD trips, "free love" and a violent encounter with rednecks. Easy Rider also mimicked Hopper's wild lifestyle. The actor has been divorced four times, arrested on drugs charges and is a recovered alcoholic.

BRITNEY SPEARS
More than a dozen motorcycle officers removed the Pop Princess from her home last week . The intervention was reportedly planned days early and finally took place when the star’s mental health deteriorated after days without sleep. "When she was taken away she was non-responsive about the whole thing - out of it, says an insider: £ She wasn't resistant; she was saying, 'Is something wrong?' "She made hot chocolate and waited for paramedics to place her on a gurney."

Psychiatrist at the hospital where Spears is being treated are said to be concerned by the star's erratic driving in her new Mercedes and "downhill behaviour". "There was extreme tension inside the house between Spears’ family and her agent, adds a source: “Britney was screaming at her mom, 'Shut the hell up!' There was so much drama that cops were speaking in code. Britney's code name is 'The Package'."

"Britney was high on meth and naked all day before the custody stand-off. Her erratic behaviour is the sign of her drug-addled descent into madness."

KATE MOSS
Kate Moss is believed to be tying the knot with her lover, rocker Jamie Hince, at London's Claridge's hotel. The Supermodel - who has signed up to model motorcycle gear from the Belstaff range for a cool £1m -started dating The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince last August.

They have been spotted pouring over wedding brochures at the upmarket hotel fuelling speculation that Claridges will be the venue for their forthcoming wedding.

"Kate looked radiant when she came by to pick up the wedding brochures, says a source:” She has the air of a woman who is loved and looked after."

"It was generally assumed Claridge's was a bolthole for her and ex-flame Pete Docherty and she wouldn't be back again, so you can image the buzz when she showed up." The singer who turns 50 this year, recently topped the first Cash Queens of Music list, compiled by Forbes.com, after making an astonishing $72 million between June 2006 and June 2007.

The Material Girl’s fortune soared on the back of a hugely successful 'Confessions Tour', which generated a staggering $260 million worldwide. Meanwhile, the star who is on an extended New Year's break in India with family, walked around Cuffe Parade, a seafront neighborhood where million-dollar high rises sit next to fishermen's huts, typical of the gulf between the city's richest and poorest.

They visited a motorcycle mechanic's garage and a market of old curios in a grimy Muslim quarter where she looked at the shops from inside her car.

ANGELINA JOLIE
The Hollywood star is keen to raise her new baby in France as a mark of respect for her late French-Canadian mother. Joilie who is due to give birth this summer, wants to move her family abroad before their child is born. "Angelina is proud of her French roots and wants her latest addition to be born and raised there, says a source.

Angelina, who also has three adopted children with Brad, has been keen to relocate to France ever since her mother Marcheline Bertrand died of ovarian cancer last year. She and Brad are reputed to have bought a chateau in the Cote d’Azure, which they hope to make their new family home. Meanwhile, her partner Brad Pitt, has bought a motorbike to escape the paparazzi and ride around without being spotted in public.

“ I am a motorbike nerd, says Pitt: ”And I wanted to get out on the road. So I bought a helmet and was able to ride around quite peacefully, incognito.

LINDSAY LOHAN
Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have been spotted brawling at a top Hollywood producer’s party because they are both desperate to work with him. The hotel heiress and the Hollywood star, who were once close mates, arrived at the producer's pre-Grammy party at Hollywood nightclub Avalon and gave each other the cold shoulder. According to one insider Lohan later jabbed a finger at Hilton and shouted: "What the hell is that b***h doing here? I didn't know she was on the list."

Hilton, who has recently been chosen as the face of Hollywood customised bike makers Beverly Hill Choppers replied: "F**k off you b***h." Lindsay and Paris were both hoping to persuade Timbaland, to help boost their fading music careers. "Both saw the party as an ideal way of getting him on side - but they didn't count on the other being there, says a source. Lohan, whose single 'I Live for the Day' disappeared without trace after receiving no radio airplay, turned up at the party first and headed straight for the music mogul.

However, Timbaland turned his back on her when Hilton entered the room and the socialite seated herself directly opposite Lindsay, which was closer to the top producer.

EVA LONGORIA The Desperate House Wife actress was spotted in New York over the yuletide festivities enjoying a host of treats and freebies. Longoria who is the face of Bebe Sport and a regular motorcycle model, flew to New York to start her Christmas shopping spree in December. She and her girlfriends enjoyed being lavished with lots of freebies, dinner, jewellery, shoes, bags and chocolates.

The actress started her girly weekend by being chauffer driven in a luxurious white Escalade Platinum Cadillac to designer store Robert Verdi's Luxe Lab. The girls then enjoyed a free dinner at chic Mexican restaurant Los Dados. The next day the group were spotted on Fifth Avenue, being treated to whatever they wanted in stores including Saks, leather goods shop Coach, sunglasses boutique Solstice and designer department store Henri Bendel.

Saks reportedly gave Eva a free pair of $1,500 Christian Louboutin boots, but this was later denied by one insider who insisted Longoria paid for them a gave them to a friend. Following several pampering treatments at a top New York spa And dinner at Mediterranean restaurant ilili, the girls tucked into Sunday brunch at top restaurant The Inn at Little West 12th, before flying back to Los Angeles.

KATE MOSS
The top model and friend Kelly Osbourne have recently been spotted looking slightly the worst for wear leaving an all night boozing session at a London nightclub. The party pals looked dishevelled and unkempt at they left Punk nightclub after hitting the bottle in a major way.

Moss, who has been signed up to model motorcycle gear from the Belstaff range for a cool £1m, tried to hide behind her knotted hair and disguise her stained tights while Osbourne appeared oblivious to her smeared make-up. ."Kate and Kelly had to be helped to their car as they looked very unsteady on their feet. MAX BEESLEY
The actor has recently revealed that dating Scary Spice Mel B "had no benefits" to his career and plenty of negatives. "It wasn't a particularly nice situation to be in and, as far as I could see, it had no benefits and plenty of disadvantages.” confesses Beesley, a keen motorcycle fan..

AMY WINEHOUSE
The troubled singer will net around £500,000 for performing a one-off gig at the Paris Fashion Week. Winehouse, who was recently awarded Worst Dressed Person at the NME Awards, will take the stage at the Louis Vuitton’s show. So great is the singer’s popularity among the fashion world, that Karl Lagerfield is reported to have chosen to base some of his fashion lines on her sense of style.

The diva’s trademark beehive hairstyle was also a prominent feature at London Fashion Week earlier this year. Winehouse is now rumoured to be considering launching her own clothing and cosmetics line, giving people the chance to emulate her own unique sense of style.

Meanwhile, the singer is now looking for a house in the country to start a fresh life with husband, Blake. Until she finds a new property she is thought to be considering moving into Ozzy Osbourne’s house with best friend Kelly Osbourne. Kelly is no stranger to drug addiction, she battled drugs at 19 shortly after nursing her father back to recovery after an horrific quad bike accident.

JOSS STONE
The sexy singer has publicly defended Hollywood actor Tom Cruise vowing to stand up for the star to defend his reputation. Cruise's image has suffered serious damage in recent years for his devotion to the Church of Scientology - but Stone, 20, says Cruise is just misunderstood.

"Tom called me and said that he loved my music, would I like to come over and meet the family?, says Stone: "I do not understand why people are so mean about him. He's lovely, he didn't strike me as weird in any way. I will stand up for that man against any of his critics." The Hollywood A-lister narrowly avoided death after coming a cropper on his turbo-charged Ducati in Beverly Hills when Cruise skidded on a patch of oil.

In spite of lying flat out on the road, Cruise was able to give concerned onlookers autographs before re-mounting his motorbike and heading for home.
